Matt brings over nine years of coaching and leadership experience to Michigan Development Academy, combining an international background with a genuine passion for player development. He holds a Football Coaching & Management Degree from UCFB, a UEFA C License, and certifications in Goalkeeping and Talent Identification.
His coaching career includes roles with Liverpool International Academy, Huddersfield Town Women U23s as Assistant Manager, and Sale United where he served as Executive Director — a range of experiences that have shaped a well-rounded and thoughtful approach to both coaching and program leadership.
At the core of Matt's philosophy is a commitment to helping players grow as individuals. He encourages creativity, decision-making, and learning through experience, while ensuring enjoyment remains central to every training session and matchday environment.
Matt relocated to Michigan two years ago to join MDA, bringing international perspective and fresh energy to the program. Outside of soccer, he is a lifelong Newcastle supporter who enjoys traveling and spending time with his wife and two kids.
