Richard Nagy

Girls Director of Coaching & Co-Founder

Richard brings over two decades of elite youth development experience to Michigan Development Academy, where he serves as Girls Director of Coaching and co-founder. Originally from Hungary and fluent in multiple languages, Richard has coached at club, academy, and national league levels across Europe and the United States, with a philosophy rooted in player development, culture building, and long-term athletic growth.

Richard holds a USSF B License and UEFA B License, along with a Master of Financial Management from Comenius University. His coaching career spans United FC Michigan, Nationals, Texas Rush, and a Director of Coaching role at Dukla Prague — one of Czech football's storied clubs. Throughout his career, Richard has coached boys and girls across all age groups and all levels of competition, from grassroots development through elite national league. He believes the best players are developed as complete people first — and brings that conviction to every training session and player relationship at MDA.

Richard has called Michigan home for years and is a proud Detroit sports fan. Outside of soccer, he trains in Brazilian jiu jitsu. He is married and has two stepchildren.
